The reason for this advert is the constant mis-spelling of Compare The Market, with users inputting Compare The Meerkat instead. The advert features a russian meerkat called Alexsandr (somtimes spelt as Alexander) who is the founder of Compare The Meerkat. He complains about the number of cheaper car insurance requests and plays the jingles for both of them. On his website, you can compare meerkats by size, their favourite hobbies and their location. Certainly one of the best advertising campaigns in recent time. But remember, if you want cheap car insurance, it’s comparethemarket.com.
